FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How do I book a class or session?

You can book a class or session directly through our online scheduling system through Vagaro, emailing amy@pilates-stt.com or calling 917.309.4412. Pre-registration is required for all classes, as spaces are limited.

2. What should I wear to my Pilates session?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement and lets your instructor see your alignment and posture. Leggings or fitted shorts, along with a tank top or T-shirt, are ideal. Bare feet or grip socks are recommended for safety and better connection to the equipment.

3. What is your cancellation policy?

Due to our very limited space, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session or class fee. We appreciate your understanding as this helps us manage availability for all clients.

4. Do I need prior Pilates experience?

Not at all! Our sessions and classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Our instructors will guide you through each exercise, tailoring the session to your experience and goals.

5. What should I bring to my session?

Just bring yourself and a positive attitude! We provide all necessary equipment and props. If you’d like, you may bring a water bottle and grip socks for added comfort.

6. How early should I arrive for my session?

Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for check-in and preparation. If it’s your first session, plan to arrive 10  minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork and discuss your goals with your instructor.

7. What types of classes do you offer?

We offer private, semi-private sessions on the Reformer, other Pilates apparatus, and mat exercises. Each session is designed to accommodate a variety of fitness levels and goals.

9. Why are there different levels and rates for teachers?

All of our instructors are fully certified and highly trained to provide safe, effective, and personalized Pilates instruction. The levels and corresponding rates reflect each teacher’s years of Pilates teaching experience.

This structure allows us to offer a range of options to meet your preferences and goals while ensuring that every session, regardless of the teacher’s level, maintains the highest standard of quality and professionalism.

10. Can I do Pilates if I have an injury or health condition?

Yes! Pilates is highly adaptable and can be modified to accommodate injuries or health conditions. Please let us know about any specific concerns or limitations when booking so our instructors can tailor the session to your needs. If you have had a severe injury, we may require doctor clearance for your safety.
